Dune: Part Two has a major problem with one scene if it wants to remain a faithful adaptation while maximizing its success. Dennis Villeneuve split Dune into two parts in an effort to keep as much of the content of Frank Herbert’s original novel as possible, and even splitting the novel into two movies was not enough as Dune: Part One had an extended runtime. Dune: Part One mainly focused on establishing the world of Dune and ends way before the major events of the novel, with an escaped Paul Atreides and Lady Jessica joining the desert-dwelling Fremen tribe.
