An impressive Elden Ring mod lets players become Darth Vader and fight through the Lands Between with a lightsaber. FromSoftware’s open-world epic casts players as a Tarnished, an undying warrior who seeks to conquer demigods and become the next Elden Lord. Fan-made mods recently added Darth Maul and Guts to Elden Ring as playable characters, and now players can become the most iconic Sith Lord of all.
Elden Ring’s large suite of customization options allows gamers to transform themselves into many different characters. The massive role-playing game features a host of weapons, all tied to stats like strength or intelligence, that possess wildly different abilities and movesets. Physical character customization, and a robust wardrobe of armors and outfits, can complete the style of any build. Elden Ring players have transformed themselves into figures like Sonic the Hedgehog and Shrek through the clever combination of character creation, equipment and abilities. One player recently encountered Jesus and Satan in Elden Ring, but mods can make even more flawless pop culture creations.
A Darth Vader Suit mod for Elden Ring, designed by Nexus Mods user drs32 and uploaded by Xelerate, lets players hunt the Lands Between’s demigods as an evil Anakin Skywalker. The mod replaces the Confessor Set armor with a perfect replica of Vader’s helmet, suit and cape. The cape flows realistically during battle, and the lights on Vader’s chest plate have an authentic glow. A video posted to YouTube by lolmetwice shows the Dark Lord of the Sith battling Godrick the Grafted using a red lightsaber that Xelerate also modded into the game.
While mods are a great way to bring characters like Darth Vader into Elden Ring, video editing can achieve a similar effect. One Elden Ring fan movie brings Aragorn, the rightful king of Gondor from The Lord of the Rings, into the Lands Between as an unwitting Tarnished. Masterful editing lets Aragorn battle the Tree Sentinel on horseback, face off with Margit, encounter Iron Fist Alexander and charge into battle against Starscourge Radahn. While the experience is not interactive, it does help to draw comparisons between Elden Ring and The Lord of the Rings as fantasy epics.
The Lands Between is a harsh and unforgiving realm, but Darth Vader is more than capable of handling himself in a hostile environment. Xelerate and drs32 managed to masterfully bring the character’s iconic sci-fi armor into the game, and his red lightsaber completes the image while helping him to effortlessly cut through even the most powerful foes. Godrick may command the Tarnished to kneel, but Darth Vader surely finds his lack of faith disturbing.
