After getting her start in independent movies, the talented actress has elevated her stardom in recent years thanks to great performances and joining blockbuster franchises. Florence Pugh’s next movie is expected to be Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, which has a release date of September 23, 2022. The movie is hotly anticipated as it marks Wilde’s second feature film after directing the 2019 breakout hit Booksmart. Pugh plays the lead role in Don’t Worry Darling as a 1950s housewife. The crime thriller also features an all-star cast of Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, Nick Kroll, and Olivia Wilde. Don’t Worry Darling‘s story follows Pugh’s character as she begins to suspect the experimental utopian community she and her husband live in might be hiding some disturbing secrets.

Audiences will also hear Florence Pugh again in 2022, as she’s part of the voice cast for DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The movie is the long-awaited sequel to 2011’s Shrek spinoff starring Antonio Banderas’ swashbuckling cat and Salma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws. Puss in Boots 2 is the first animated movie Florence Pugh has been part of. She is one of the film’s new cast members, which also includes Olivia Colman, Harvey Guillén, John Mulaney, and Ray Winstone. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is also slated for release on September 23, 2022, marking the seventh installment of the Shrek movie franchise.

Florence Pugh’s upcoming movies also include her first Netflix production, The Wonder. The movie is an adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s acclaimed novel and is directed by Sebastián Lelio (Gloria BellDisobedience). One of the more personal upcoming Florence Pugh movies is A Good Person. The movie is written and directed by Zach Braff, who Pugh has been dating for the last few years. Florence Pugh’s upcoming movies also includes Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated Dune sequel. Pugh will play Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Two, the daughter of the Emperor and future wife of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet in the movie franchise. Florence Pugh is also attached to star in an upcoming movie titled The Maid. The film is a murder mystery thriller that Pugh will star in and produce for Universal Pictures. Pugh stars as a maid named Molly who learns about guests’ dirty secrets as she cleans their rooms, leading to her descent into the murderous part of her workplace. The movie comes as murder mysteries have regained popularity through Knives Out, Kenneth Branagh’s Hercules Poirot movies like Death on the Nile, and even Apple TV+’s The Afterparty. However, The Maid does not yet have a director, writer, or release date, so it is unclear when it will arrive.
