Dodger fans were relieved to hear that Will Smith, their outstanding young catcher, was not the fellow responsible for the bitch-slap that was all anyone could talk about after the Oscar awards ceremony on Sunday night.

Oscar Wilde commented: “True friends stab you in the front.” While the line implied that Will Smith, the actor, was acting as Chris Rock’s “true friend,” Wilde complicated the message by adding that he favored “Everything in moderation, including moderation.”
