How Much Jeopardy Paid Dr. Oz To Guest Host The Game Show

A recent senate disclosure form has revealed how much Mehmet Oz, better known as Dr. Oz, was paid to guest-host the game show Jeopardy!. Oz is a TV personality, author, and current Republican political candidate running for Senator. After beginning his medical career in 1986, Oz transitioned into television when he appeared in an episode of 60 Minutes in 2001 before making regular appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show as a health expert. Having made several TV appearances across the years, including hosting more than 2,000 episodes of his own show, The Dr. Oz Show, the 61-year-old also made guest appearances as the host of Jeopardy!.

According to reports from THR, the disclosure form detailed that the Ohio-born Oz was paid $268,000 for a two-week spell guest hosting the popular TV game show. Apparently, the full amount was donated to an unnamed charity. There were details of other payments and salaries that the TV personality received over the course of his career, including around $2 million per year for hosting his own show, as well as close to $194,000 for his role as producer on the show.

Actors and actresses are not the only well-paid individuals in film and television, and it’s often the case that big-name presenters are also paid the big bucks, and Oz is clearly one such example of this. While his salaries and earnings might not be on the same level as the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Judge Judy Sheindlin, Oz is clearly stil well-paid. The status of his TV career in the future remains unclear, but there is every chance he returns to the small screen if his political career doesn’t pan out, and viewers could even see him guest-presenting Jeopardy! again at some point.
