Mark Hamill Reacts to Star Wars Actor’s Incredible Boba Fett Collection

Star Wars veteran Mark Hamill shares his reaction to the late Jeremy Bulloch’s amazing Boba Fett merchandise collection. Earning his role in the Empire Strikes Back thanks to his half-brother who was working as one of the film’s producers, Bulloch was the first actor to bring the fan favorite bounty hunter to life on screen. Despite having only a small amount of screen time in the original Star Wars trilogy, the mystique surrounding Boba Fett would eventually make him one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise.

When George Lucas returned to make the prequel trilogy, Boba’s origin story was revealed in Attack of the Clones and he was played by a young Daniel Logan. Revealed as the unaltered clone of Temuera Morrison’s bounty hunter Jango Fett, his evolution into one of the galaxy’s most feared underworld figures was further elaborated on through the animated Clone Wars series. More recently, Fett’s legacy continued in The Mandalorian spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett, in which Morrison returned to play the character post Return of the Jedi.

Sadly Bulloch, who was instrumental in making the character a fan favorite, passed away aged 75 at the end of 2020. A much beloved part of the Star Wars convention circuit, it would seem that Bulloch was also a serious collector of Boba Fett merchandise with many of his rare collectables once proudly displayed in his office. With many of his items going under the auction hammer, Bulloch’s co-star Hamill was quick to weigh in on his collection which included an action figure of Bulloch himself out of costume. Calling Bulloch “one of the nicest guys I’ve ever known”, Hamill shared photos of Bulloch’s personal collection. Check out the original post below:

As devastating as Bulloch’s loss is to the Star Wars community, his character continues to dominate the franchise’s lore and the public’s imagination. Originally conceived as a group of white-armored Imperial super commandos, the design for Boba Fett was later transformed into that of a lone bounty hunter. Fett’s character would also go on to inspire a major part of the Star Wars mythology, that of the Mandalorian warrior culture. Without Bulloch’s original performance, shows like The Mandalorian and characters like Din Djarin may never have eventuated.

It is heartwarming to realize that Bulloch himself was such an avid collector of Boba Fett memorabilia himself. Between this and being well known for his love for connecting with Star Wars fans, the franchise could truly have no better a champion. Hopefully with Bulloch’s Star Wars collectibles going up for auction, his once prized possessions will find a much loved new home in someone whose affection for the franchise rivaled his own.
