Solve A Hollywood Murder In The Atlas Mystery [EXCLUSIVE]

The Atlas Mystery is an upcoming VR puzzle game developed by the studio behind Belko VR: An Escape Room ExperimentBelko VR is a game that is set in the world of James Gunn’s The Belko Experiment, where office workers are forced to kill each other as part of a horrific game. People with an HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or Valve Index can play Belko VR right now for free on Steam.

Belko VR puts the player in the role of an office worker, who is trapped in their room and must solve puzzles in order to escape. A clock keeps ticking away in the background, signaling their doom if they cannot escape on time. It doesn’t take long to complete Belko VR, but it’s still a lot of fun, especially for a free title.

The studio behind Belko VR is ready to reveal its next title. The Atlas Mystery is a VR puzzle game that involves exploring the abandoned Atlas Theater and solving its puzzles while evading supernatural threats. The first trailer for The Atlas Mystery can be seen on its official Screen Rant Plus YouTube channel and it’s coming to PC via Steam and Meta Quest via App Labs on April 13. The game has a number of movie and video game veterans behind it, including Eric Kleifield, the co-founder and head of creative for film studio Welcome Villain; Dan Clifton, film producer and technologist for Top Right Corner; Evan Goldman, additional composer on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Detective Pikachu; and Chris Ryan, orchestrator on Shazam!

The Atlas Mystery involves the infamous Atlas Theater, a 1940’s era movie palace that was once involved in various scandals, including the murder of some of the biggest stars of the era. The player must solve puzzles, search through startling artifacts, and hide from the supernatural beings that stalk the halls of the once vibrant cinema. The world of VR has some amazing horror games and The Atlas Mystery seems to be going for something more conventional than Belko VR in its approach to terror.

The golden age of Hollywood had no shortage of scandals, from grisly murders to ties to organized crime. This makes it the perfect inspiration for a horror game, as the player uncovers the dark truth behind the glitz and the glamor of the silver screen. The Atlas Mystery has the chance to evoke the feeling of unease that comes with being in an abandoned movie theater and the sensation of being alone in a place where horrible deeds happened behind the scenes. Fans won’t have to wait long to experience the VR immersive world of the Atlas Theater for themselves, as the game is due to launch next week on compatible VR headsets.
