The Office: How Many Women Jim Dated Across All 9 Seasons

While Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly’s relationship was at the core of The Office throughout its entire 9-season run, the lovable salesman had a couple of notable partners prior to the sitcom couple finally settling down together. The Office, created by Greg Daniels, ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013. The workplace mockumentary was widely popular during its run, especially due to its colorful cast of characters and their compelling relationships. Some of the more notable relationships involved Jim (John Krasinski), the mild-mannered yet sarcastic sales representative of Dunder-Mifflin’s Scranton, Pennsylvania branch.

The Office focused on the work lives of the Dunder-Mifflin Scranton employees but it also delved into the characters’ romantic lives. Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) had a few girlfriends during the show, while Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and Angela (Angela Kinsey) had a notable on-again, off-again relationship that ultimately resulted in their marriage in The Office‘s beloved series finale. However, the romance between Jim and Pam (Jenna Fischer) is definitely The Office‘s most iconic, largely due to their will-they/won’t-they dynamic spread across the first few seasons. Before Jim got happily married to Pam and started a family with her, he had only two other relationships during The Office‘s run.

In The Office season 1, Jim was shown to have a crush on Pam, even though she was engaged to Roy (David Denman), a Dunder-Mifflin warehouse employee she had been dating since high school. In The Office season 1 finale, “Hot Girl,” Michael allowed handbag salesperson Katy Moore to set up shop in the office conference room. Katy caught the eye of all the male employees in the office, though she ended up getting a ride home from Jim—narrowly avoiding an incredibly uncomfortable ride home from Michael in the process. Jim dated Amy Adams’ Katy in The Office season 2, though he broke up with her in the memorable episode “Booze Cruise,” feeling heartbroken after Roy finally announced that he had set a date for his wedding to Pam.

At the end of The Office season 2, Jim, feeling bored by his job and upset by Pam’s upcoming wedding, decided to accept a new job position at Dunder-Mifflin’s Stamford, Connecticut branch. In The Office season 3, Jim befriended fellow salesperson Karen Filippelli (Rashida Jones). When the Stamford branch closed and Jim decided to be part of the employee transfer back to Scranton, Karen, who had feelings for Jim, decided to follow him. Jim and Karen date throughout The Office season 3, though Jim’s unresolved feelings for Pam begin to affect his relationship. In The Office season 3 finale, Jim and Karen were both up for a promotion in New York City, though he was hesitant to move there with her. Jim ultimately returned to Scranton, crashing Pam’s talking head interview in order to ask her out on a date, and in the season 4 premiere it was revealed that Karen had hastily left the Scranton office following their breakup.

Last but certainly not least is Pam Beesly. Jim and Pam started their relationship in The Office season 4—although they briefly tried to keep it a secret from the rest of their coworkers—and got engaged in The Office season 5 premiere. The long-awaited wedding between Jim and Pam took place at Niagara Falls during The Office season 6, prior to Pam giving birth to the couple’s first child Cecilia. In The Office season 9, Jim and Pam’s marriage was strained when the former took up another job in Philadelphia without telling his wife, but the couple was able to reconcile and ended up moving to Austin following the series finale. Though Jim had a brief relationship with Katy and a more meaningful relationship with Karen in The Office, he eventually found true happiness with his third girlfriend and future wife, Pam.
