"Unlocking Delight: How Tiny Experiments Can Transform Your Everyday Life!"

Have you ever felt the overwhelming urge to embark on an experiment—something that stars in your mind but leaves you stalled at the starting line? Maybe it’s about creating something new, building a connection, or simply exploring unknown territory. I recently dove into this headfirst with the vibrant community at NessLabs.com, where we were tasked with discovering what we could achieve over the span of 30 working days. The idea wasn’t about smashing goals, but more about observing the process amidst our everyday lives. As I embarked on my personal experiment to write daily, intentions were high—yet, reality had other plans, leading to just a handful of published pieces. It felt a tad disheartening, at first. But isn’t there beauty in experimentation, even when the outcomes differ from our expectations? Join me as I unpack the lessons learned along the way and share how you can embark on an experiment of your own! LEARN MORE.

Everything you need to conduct an experiment of your own

Recently I rejoined NessLabs.com — a community of folks interested in conducting tiny experiments to find better ways of living. Ness’ founder, Anne-Laure Le Cunff, PhD, set us the task of seeing what we could explore in 30 workdays as we headed into the backend of the year.

This was not an end of year “crush it” exercise. Rather it was more about having a go whilst still living your regular life.

Given I’ve been on a sabbatical for the majority of this year, ostensibly to write books (1 non-fiction book on building sales pipelines ready to launch in 2025 + 75K words on a first-draft of fiction + a ghost written book on team coaching for managers for a client so far), I decided I needed to build a community prior to launching at some point in 2025.

So, for my initial experiment, I originally set out to write on Substack (as something new) each day for 30 working days with the primary outcome being to begin to build connection with a community.

I managed to write just 4 pieces and publish precisely 1.

Gotta admit, it felt like a bit of a fail. BUT…

The beauty of conducting an experiment
