The Last of Us season 2 is coming, but it really shouldn’t have Ellie as the main character. Despite Ellie and Joel starring in season 1 of The Last of Us, the nature of the game’s sequel, The Last of Us Part II, means that the show’s next story will have to make some significant changes to the formula. So, although it sounds shocking, the best path forward for the HBO series is to not have Ellie be the main character of The Last of Us season 2.
