The spinoff of the iconic fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, has marked yet another extraordinary chapter in the ongoing golden age of fantasy television. With its enormous budget, its sprawling story, and its evocation of one of the most well-established and beloved mythologies in fantasy literature, it’s become a benchmark against which other series are measured. While The Rings of Power’s season 1 ending left many questions for season 2 to answer, watching the series is reminiscent of other great fantasy TV shows that explore similar themes.
