The Avengers have been Marvel’s pre-eminent superhero team for the past 60 years. Certain heroes, such as Captain America, Thor and Iron Man have been fixtures of the team throughout its long history. Other characters, such as Black Panther, Captain Marvel and the Scarlet Witch have come and gone over the years, but remain firmly in the minds of fans when they think of “the Avengers.” Yet, given the team’s extensive history, there have also been a number of members who joined, only to be totally forgotten by fans.
