Although a sequel to The Pope’s Exorcist isn’t yet confirmed, there are literally thousands of additional exorcisms which the potential sequel could draw inspiration from. The Pope’s Exorcist starring Russell Crowe as the real-life Vatican exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth has become one of the most popular films on Netflix. The film follows the apparent demonic possession of a young boy in Rome, Italy in 1987 and the efforts of Amorth to investigate the source of a centuries-old conspiracy. The story was based on the actual personal files of Father Amorth, who died in 2016.
