Honor Among Thieves establishes Simon as the party’s sorcerer early in the film before he goes absent due to the story focusing on Edgin and Holga reuniting with Forge and Kira. Simon eventually returns to the story, when it is made clear a sorcerer is needed for Edgin’s mission.
