WEDNESDAYS WITH DENISE: June 5, 2024

This spring Anhinga Press published Éric Morales-Franceschini’s Syndrome via the Philip Levine Prize for Poetry. Syndrome, chosen as the winner by Juan Felipe Herrera, explores Puerto Rican identity via a rich lexicon that includes code-switching between English and Spanish. Partly lyric, partly manifesto, the poems in Syndrome are political, challenging, and authentic. They build to a complex response to colonialization. You can read one of his amazing poems here…

Congratulations, Eric!
