Three months in, what’s working for me

A lack of marketing experience, coupled with fear of the time and cost it might demand, scares many writers away from self-publishing. With traditional publishing deals difficult to access, this means a lot of great books never find their audience.

As you may now, I’m a writer and marketeer. Just two months ago, I self-published my first novel, The World Happiness Organisation. I felt comfortable having some marketing acumen. That said, I suspected selling locations as attractive for business investment (that’s my background) and selling books were two very different beasts.

Three months in, turns out I was right! That’s why I’m here to explore common book marketing strategies, reveal what they cost and share where I’m currently feeling the most traction. This isn’t a blueprint for every author or every book — different strokes for different folks — but should be helpful to anyone on the same journey.
