Chicken Run has held the record for highest-grossing stop-motion film for 23 years, but thanks to Netflix, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget has no chance of beating it. The 2000 Aardman film made $228 million at the global box office, a number that other claymation classics like Coraline and Corpse Bride couldn’t manage to overcome. Considering this, it’s no surprise that 2023 would see the release of the continued story Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, especially in the age of reboots and sequels. However, it will be impossible for this new claymation story to make anywhere near as much at the box office.
