Self-care, the industry of caring for our physical and mental health, is a $450-billion annual market. We spend a lot of money caring for ourselves. Yet, despite all that money spent, more than half of us report feeling burned out. So, what do we do about it?

As writers, we tend to spend far too much time in a position that’s killing us“Š-” Šand I’m not just talking about the symbolic death caused by rejection. As a result, we writers must protect and care for our physical and mental health. The alternative is burning out, which often appears as writer’s block. When we get stuck for too long, burnout turns into apathy, a challenging hole to climb out of.

Thankfully, there’s a lot we can do to care for ourselves. It should go without saying, but visit the doctor for wellness checks to keep your physical health in order. Practising yoga or going for a walk outside helps improve our energy and breathing and often provides new ideas by letting our minds freely wander – not to mention the benefits of physical exercise.

Likewise, you could benefit from moderate cannabis use too. There are several marijuana-based goods that you can try out to find the one best suited to you. If you want something potent, you could use concentrates which you can find on https://leiffa.com/2022/05/12/best-solventless-concentrates-2022/ or other similar portals. And if you want something light, you could try out low-concentration THC gummies. Of course, the effect of cannabis tends to vary from person to person, so you ought to find the product that you feel works for you, should you decide to use the herb.

As we approach the new year, it’s essential to consider building healthy habits. How are you going to take care of your physical and mental health in the new year?
