Monkey Man director and star Dev Patel explains how Jordan Peele took the movie from Netflix to theaters. Marking Patel’s directorial debut, Monkey Man follows a mysterious man as he embarks on a mission of bloody vengeance against corrupt leaders who are responsible for the death of his mother. The film, which has been teased as “John Wick in Mumbai,” originally began life as a Netflix production, but is now getting a theatrical release thanks to Get Out director Peele.
