Marvel Studios will debut a new villain, Dar-Benn, in 2023’s The Marvels, who could help to solve one major Avengers: Endgame complaint by posing a true challenge to Captain Marvel. The sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel was confirmed to be in development in 2019, with Brie Larson returning as Carol Danvers, a former Air Force pilot who was imbued with cosmic powers after being exposed to energy from the Tesseract. While The Marvels will see the returns of Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, and Samuel L. Jackson, the Phase 5 film will also introduce a new villain to the MCU, portrayed by Fresh Meat and Velvet Buzzsaw’s Zawe Ashton.
