“Unlock the Depths of the Mind: Ananya S. Guha’s ‘Headiness’ Explores the Uncharted Territories of Thought and Emotion”
In the dance of morning light and shadow, a tapestry of emotions unfolds as we witness the world around us transform in unexpected ways. Have you ever found yourself caught between the warmth of sunlight and the chill of uncertainty? This reflective piece plunges us into a vivid scene where nature’s chaos mirrors humanity’s tumult, revealing how even the simplest moments can hold the weight of profound sorrow. With cats rushing for cover and the somber news of distant tragedies filling the air, we’re prompted to ponder our own response to the disarray. The poet, caught between the tragic and the mundane, takes up the pen—or rather, the keyboard—exploring thoughts tinged with the omnipresence of loss. What is it that draws us to encapsulate our musings in words when the world around us seems so fragile? Join me in unraveling these poetic threads and reflecting on how we process grief and joy in everyday life. Discover more about this evocative exploration in poetry. LEARN MORE.

This morning the scatter of sun paled into dark ashes
cloud bursts, spring — fire of rain
cats hurried inside
dogs looked baleful
people on streets strutted as usual like flaunting people, even as the news mourned Kashmir and France. I took the pen, sorry the computer,
to look at thoughts, with the stigma
of insatiable death
lurking in headiness.
