Ever since I learned how to write and grownups started to ask the infamous “What do you want to be when you grow up” question, I always answered, “I want to become a writer”.

I always had a deep passion in my heart to become a writer, with the goal of publishing a novel someday, most probably like you, who is reading this piece right now.

Everyone has that ultimate dream they set for themselves to reach in their lifetime. That ultimate dream for me has always been writing and publishing my novel. It was my “thing” that everyone knew about me, and it remained that way for years.

But I noticed that over the years, I didn’t question my ideal in a logical sense. I didn’t explore the whys and hows, I just knew that I had to write a novel someday and that it was a lifegoal and my biggest mission and meaning in life.

I just went with it, going about my life with my dream as a novelist lingering in the background. Now that is as vague of a goal as it can get.

But as I started to get closer to the age where I expected myself to finally carve out a novel, I began to think about the hows and then got struck by reality.
