General responsibilities:
- Identify optimization opportunities and spearhead changes or additions that make our customer’s content more inclusive and facilitate the representation of diverse groups (ethnicity, gender, abilities, religion, culture, age, sexuality, +)
- Workshop a customer’s style guide to include DEI-minded elements
- Understand the DEI landscape and shed light on best practices
- Advise on how to apply evolving language or knowledge, inclusive and accessible designs, and copy edits that are intentional and compassionate.
- Prime your writers and editors to think critically as they’re creating content
- Think about elements such as navigation for those who are hearing or visually impaired. For example, using alt-text for every digital image published, not distinguishing options by color only, using captions for all videos, including transcripts for audio or video interviews.
- Can perform audits focusing on DEI values to ensure there’s representation, and help the client refine their DEI goals when it comes to how & where in their content.
