The difference between you and them (what it truly means to have a writing talent).

Everyone can wield a pen, but only a few can write. Many can write, but only a few choose to do so. Many have chosen to write, yet only a few will pursue the unclear paths.

In all these, there is also the unbeliever—the ones who have chosen to denounce the presence of talent, gift, and skill in writing.

In mid-August 2021, one of my closest friends uttered the most unrealistic sentence I have ever heard. He punctured my heart and tore through my soul and guts, yet after a few days, I took pity on him. The sentence was short, yet it stood as tall as a behemoth to me.

For days, it felt like a cloud upon my gift of writing and the bet I made on myself to give it a go. He made me feel ordinary and maybe useless. He rubbished my path. But I vowed to prove him wrong.

He said to me: ‘Writing is not a special skill. Anyone can write.’
