"Unraveling the Veil of Reality: Ananya S. Guha's Poignant Exploration in 'Truths'"

In a world brimming with chaos, where thoughts can sometimes feel like a wild wilderness, this poem resonates with a raw and poignant urgency. The imagery of a burning country and resurrected dead, brought to life by the simple bark of a dog, raises unsettling questions about memory, sacrifice, and the tangled web of history. What happens when the weight of unexamined truths hangs heavy in the air? Can we truly untwist the contorted narratives that define our existence? Join me as we delve into the depths of this striking piece, where every line offers a glimpse into the struggle of understanding our past amidst the noise of the present. This lyrical exploration is a reminder that poetry has the power to illuminate—if only we pause long enough to listen.

I must leave this
wilderness of thought
grass growing, head cracking
splintering forth,
a country is burning
the dead are buried long
ago, they will resurrect
only at the raucous bark
of a dog. I haven’t travelled enough to know
that the writing on the wall
is only a slur to all actions.
Shoot them out and twist
history into contorted truths.
