Pokémon now has well over 1,000 pocket monsters listed in the Pokédex, including 19 cute little ones known as “baby” Pokémon. Baby Pokémon were added in Generation 2 at the same time that breeding and eggs were introduced to the game. They represent the earliest evolution of some of the lines and are unable to breed.
