Bond 26 Should Bring Back A Forgotten Franchise Villain Trope

The James Bond franchise has always been defined by its villains, and one long-forgotten trope needs to make a comeback as the franchise resets from the Daniel Craig era with Bond 26. The five Daniel Craig movies, beginning with Casino Royale in 2006, leaned into a more grounded version of the secret agent and his adventures. This fit with American cinema’s affinity for realism during the 2000s-2010s and led to a very successful series of connected movies, but in order to pull it off much of the charm of the early Bond films was left in the dust.
