“I Bet They Had So Much Fun”: VFX Artists Find Sole Saving Grace Of Worst Alan Moore Comic Book Movie

Despite being lambasted by critics and disowned by original comic creator Alan Moore, VFX artists have praised the use of practical effects in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Loosely based on Moore’s comic series of the same name, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen followed a group of famous 19th-century literary characters reimagined as a team of Victorian-era superheroes. Featuring a cast led by Sean Connery as the adventurer Allan Quartermain, the veteran actor would later go on to claim the film’s troubled production and final quality is what convinced him to retire from acting altogether.
