Inside the Mind Behind Terms & Conditions: Amy Goldmacher Reveals the Untold Story of Her Memoir

MF: The use of artifacts adds a tactileness to Terms & Conditions. I think one of my favorites is your father’s puttanesca recipe, crumpled paper and all. How did you choose what you chose to include? Were there any primary sources that ultimately did not work in the book’s final iteration?

AG: Luckily, my mother kept a lot of my father’s stuff. Stuff that lived in boxes and survived multiple moves over multiple decades.
