Beneath its cute facade, Palworld hides some disturbing truths. Lore isn’t most players’ first concern when booting up a game of Palworld. It’s easy enough to accept the concepts of collecting monsters and crafting at face value. Prior conditioning from the lore-light survival games that inspired it – things like Rust and Ark: Survival Evolved – means that no one expected a deep, complex story out of Palworld. However, the actual amount of story content in the game, told mostly through found diary entries, Pal flavor text, and the occasional pithy NPC, can be surprising.
