DEBBIE’S STORY: When I was younger, I believed I had the world by the throat. I attended college with the plans to be an athletic coach. Writing was something I played with but never took seriously. A slick road, a near-fatal car accident, irreparable nerve damage in my right hand…and my world changed forever.
Stuck at home, my dreams as crippled as my right hand, I began taking my writing more seriously. I found that, through my imagination, I could create and escape into new worlds; a way to pass the time and stop the self-pity. I further thought that it would be a good way to perhaps earn a few bucks for my family, something we were running low on since my accident.
