The Heartbreaking Deception: How One Scammer Secretly Controlled My Life
Debbie had already noticed they were using a Gmail email address to contact her (that was the first red flag!). Employees at the REAL Everbridge Academy use this domain in their email addresses: everbridgeacademy.com
(Note: We contacted the real Everbridge Academy about this situation, but we haven’t heard back from them yet.)
I shared with Debbie the story of the “college” that contacted us, demanding a free copy (with security features removed!) of an ebook by one of our authors. Had we caved, and sent that free ebook, the “college” (it was a scammer) could have made copies of that ebook, put it on ebook pirate sites, put it up for sale, or they could have even republished a print edition of the book under their name.
