One wild theory suggests that the High Evolutionary was building a Celestial in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Chukwudi Iwuji’s MCU debut saw him introduce the High Evolutionary to Marvel Studios’ shared franchise, based on the legendary villain from Marvel Comics who made his first full appearance in a 1966 Thor-centric storyline. Through flashbacks into Rocket Raccoon’s history in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the High Evolutionary was revealed to have been conducting genetic and evolutionary experiments on animal lifeforms in an effort to create the perfect society on Counter-Earth, but it’s possible that the new supervillain had even grander plans for the MCU.
