One of the questions I’m asked most often by other authors is, “How have you sold so many books?”
They’re usually surprised by my answer.
I never ask people to buy them.
That probably sounds like terrible marketing advice, but it’s worked really well for me. As the founder of the Surviving Grief community, I’ve learned that people don’t respond well to being sold to, especially when they’re hurting. They respond to people they trust.
