Reddit user Naydinfar-Crossing used Cherry Blossom season to its full potential this week, with an expertly skilled build of Satori Mountain. They’ve utilized in-game items and flora alongside a custom pattern to perfectly recreate the location’s appearance, even waiting for a day that Cherry Blossom petals sat atop the water just as they appear in Breath of the Wild. Their scene utilizes several new elements added in the Animal Crossing 2.0 update: the rocks lining the lake are a new DIY made with glowing moss, and the mountains in the distance have been recreated utilizing the new Dormant Volcano item. This player’s creation is nearly an exact replica, with even a single rock and small tufts of grass matching up to the location in Breath of the Wild.

This build is an excellent example of just how much can be created within Animal Crossing – the slew of items at players’ disposal coupled with the ability to use custom patterns offers almost infinite possibilities when it comes to design. This user is particularly adept a recreating Zelda designs, previously having recreated the Breath of the Wild Lost Woods entrance. Designs like these not only demonstrate the building capabilities of Animal Crossing, they also showcase the true artistry of Breath of the Wild‘s environment.

It’s no wonder there’s such a crossover between Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing fans – both are beloved largely in part for the free reign they give to players, allowing them to choose which tasks to prioritize and play the game exactly how they want to. While Animal Crossing: New Horizons is more design-centric than Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, both games feature a lush environment for players to explore and inspire creativity in their own way. With the highly-anticipated release of Breath of the Wild 2 on the horizon, spending time on builds like these is a perfect way for fans of both series to quell their impatience.
