Drag Race UK Vs. World Episode 4 Recap: Game Of Snatches & Blindsides

Warning! SPOILERS for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Vs. The World episode 4 below!

The queens to play the Snatch Game on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. The World episode 4, but what started out as a fan-favorite maxi challenge ended in one of the most gut-wrenching eliminations in Drag Race herstory. Episode 4 started out rather tense following Jimbo’s elimination on Drag Race UK Vs. The World last week. Baga Chipz was not happy about Pangina Heals picking Jimbo’s lipstick and felt like it was done purely out of strategy given that Jimbo had placed twice in the top two.

This week, RuPaul announced that these internationally-renowned queens would be playing the Snatch Game, and their choices for which characters to play certainly didn’t disappoint. Baga Chipz decided to play Kathy Bates in-character as Annie Wilkes from the 1990 thriller film Misery. In the movie, Annie is the caretaker of a book author named Paul Sheldon – which is why Baga kept referring to RuPaul as “Paul” throughout the Snatch Game. Kathy Bates won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in this film, and it was a brilliant choice for Baga to do in the Snatch Game.

The other queens on Drag Race UK vs. The World also had very interesting choices for their Snatch Game characters. Pangina Heals played Mariah Carey, who is an LGBTQIA+ icon, and Jujubee played Cher, who is one of RuPaul’s favorite pop divas of all time. Janey Jacké took the risk of impersonating controversial YouTube star James Charles, whereas Mo Heart had a last-minute character change following Ru’s advice that she could do a great Billy Porter impersonation (which was somewhat in the stylings of his character of Pray Tell on Pose). Meanwhile, Blu Hydrangea impersonated Mike Myers as his characters Austin Powers and Dr. Evil. Given that she’s mostly considered a makeup queen, Blu playing two characters in the Snatch Game certainly impressed the judges.

None of the queens did exceptionally bad in the Snatch Game, but it was clear that Pangina Heals’ Mariah Carey and Janey Jacké’s James Charles weren’t the best impersonations of the episode. Later on the runway, RuPaul announced that Baga Chipz and Blu Hydrangea won this maxi challenge. In a shock twist of events, though, Ru decided that all of the other four queens landed in the bottom, making this the first bottom four of the season. This means that Baga and Blu could’ve essentially picked anyone in this Drag Race UK vs. The World cast they wanted to send home. As they deliberated in Untucked, Baga told Mo Heart and Jujubee right away that she wasn’t picking their lipsticks. There was a sense that Blu also agreed that the real bottom two of the week was between Pangina and Janey.

When it comes to Baga, there was a sense that she wanted to eliminate Pangina to avenge her friend Jimbo. For Blu, though, the decision felt more like a toss-up. As the top two of the week, Baga and Blu lip synced to “Let It Go” by Alexandra Burke. Blu served an incredibly strong lip sync – once again impressing her costars and the judges – and was deemed the winner of a golden RuPeter Badge. Ru then asked Blu to reveal which queen she’d send home, and Blu took out Pangina’s lipstick. RuPaul was in absolute disbelief after seeing Pangina’s lipstick – perhaps the most shocked the host has ever been in the herstory of this All Stars format. Michelle Visage also stared down in utter disbelief and even the guest judges had tears in their eyes. Pangina was absolutely devasted and her backstage crying could be heard up until the episode ended.
