Dreamworks’ latest theatrical film release, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, goes to video on demand just 18 days after its release, and its disappointing box office performance. Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken follows the titular Ruby (Lana Condor) as she navigates high school life while learning she’s a descendent of the kraken queens. Now, it’s her job to protect the oceans from evil mermaids. The film received mixed reviews and has grossed $34.2 million at the worldwide box office, off a budget of $70 million.
