#NonficNov: New to My TBR

As always, I’m sad to reach the last week of Nonfiction November, but I really appreciate all of you who’ve stuck with us so far! Even four weeks in, there were still almost 30 of us linking up our stranger than fiction reads last week. This week, we’ll wrap up by sharing who we have to blame thank for all the additions to our TBR this month, with our final host Jaymi at The OC Book Girl. Be sure to link-up your reviews with her. I’d also like to give her a huge thank you for both hosting our Instagram challenge this year (one more prompt yet tomorrow) and designing our snazzy new graphics. The full text of this week’s prompt is:

New to My TBR: It’s been a month full of amazing nonfiction books! Which ones have made it onto your TBR? Be sure to link back to the original blogger who posted about that book!

Since reading about the Middle East has been on my to-do list for awhile, the year in review post from Maphead’s Book Blog pretty much all went straight onto my to-read pile. I’m also interested in the books on the death of democracy in this post, if slightly intimidated by the depressing topic. I also hadn’t realized Jane Jacobs of urban planning fame had written a book on this topic, but now I have to read it!

I was really excited about many of your fiction/nonfiction pairings, especially those with historical fiction or an author bio. These included some books on the women in Truman Capote’s life from Julz at Julz Reads and books to pair with the Wolf Hall series from Laura at Reading in Bed.

I’m looking forward to getting to some of your recommendations in response to my request for books on the Middle East as well. In particular, Mary of Bibliographic Manifestations suggested Lawrence in Arabia as a readable overview and Rennie of What’s Nonfiction recommended The Looming Tower, another book by Lawrence Wright (the author of The Plague Year, which I also read based on Rennie’s review).

I’m sure that doesn’t cover everything I’ve added to my stacks this month, but it’s all I’ve kept track of. Thank you all for joining us for another wonderful Nonfiction November! Don’t forget to link-up your discussion prompt responses and nonfiction reviews with Jaymi at The OC Book Girl.
