Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Best Moveset for Garchomp

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Ground-Dragon type Garchomp can be a powerful addition to a team, and players will want to have the best moveset to maximize its potential. Garchomp is the third and final evolution in the Gible line, as Gible evolves into Gabite and Gabite into Garchomp. All three Pokémon share a typing, and most of their best moves are within their Ground-Dragon type to benefit from the same type attack bonus.

Players can obtain a wild Gible roaming the Coronet Highlands, specifically in Wayward Cave or near Clamberclaw Cliffs. Additionally, the small blue dragon Pokémon can be caught during a mass outbreak in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Finally, players may also spot Alpha Gabite, the middle evolution of this line, wandering in Coronet Highlands. Once players obtain a Gible, they can evolve it into Gabite once it reaches level 24, and Gabite evolves into Garchomp at level 48.

To use their Garchomp most effectively in battle, players should note that Ground-type Pokémon are weak to Grass, Ice, and Water-type moves. Meanwhile, Ground-type attacks are super effective against Electric, Fire, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type Pokémon. Additionally, Dragon-type moves are super effective against Dragon-type Pokémon. However, Dragon-type Pokémon are the weakest to Ice, Fairy, and Dragon-type moves. Therefore, to get the most from the Garchomp on their team in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players should use the moves Double-Edge, Outrage, Earth Power, and Dragon Claw.

Double-Edge is a Normal-type move with 100 Accuracy, 120 Power, and 15 PP. Garchomp can learn the move Double-Edge when it reaches level 37, and it will master this skill at level 48. Additionally, Double-Edge can cause recoil, which will inflict additional damage to the opposing Pokémon after the move hits. As a Normal-type move, Double-edge is not is super effective against any type of Pokémon.

Furthermore, Outrage is a Dragon-type move with 100 Accuracy, 180 Power, and 10 PP. This move will continue to deal damage for 2-3 turns and can cause the opposing Pokémon to become confused after the final hit. Garchomp in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will learn Outrage once it reaches level 47, and it will master this move at level 59. Because this is a Dragon-type move, it is most effective against other Dragon-type Pokémon.

Earth Power is a Ground-type move with 100 Accuracy, 135 Power, and 10 PP. Garchomp can learn Earth Power as early as level 29 and master the move at level 40. Additionally, Earth Power has a small chance to lower the target Pokémon’s Special Defense stat. As a Ground-type move, Earth Power is most effective against Electric, Fire, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type Pokémon. With only 10 PP, players should use this move sparingly if they need to complete multiple battles in a row. Furthermore, players can craft in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the item Elixir, to restore depleted PP.

Finally, Dragon Claw is a Dragon-type move with 100 Accuracy, 120 Power, and 15 PP. Dragon Claw is a move that Garchomp can learn early at level 18, and it can master this move at only level 21. Because of Dragon Claw’s typing, this movie is most effective against other Dragon-type Pokémon.
