Shep Rose has been Southern Charm‘s resident Peter Pan since the show’s inception in 2014, and fans are curious about one of his former love interests, MJ. Since then, Shep has gone on to be involved with multiple women hoping to recapture his youth. Even though Shep is now in a serious relationship with girlfriend Taylor Ann Green, fans can’t forget the several women he once dated.
As Bravo viewers got to know Shep, the trust fund baby has made it no secret that he grew up in a privileged household. Throughout the seasons, Shep made it clear he didn’t want to grow up and become an actual adult. While he didn’t have a partner by his side for some time, he finally settled down with Taylor. The couple has been in a committed relationship for two years, but fans can still tell he has a wandering eye leaving many to wonder if he ever thinks about past women he missed out on.
Southern Charm fans first met MJ during season 1 of the hit franchise, MJ was Shep’s type through and through as she was petite, blonde, and even worked as a yoga instructor. Even though Shep flat out refused to try one of her classes, the Southern gentleman did his best to woo her. Viewers watched as MJ gently let Shep down on more than one occasion, but Shep always came back for more. Throughout the season, Shep became angry with MJ, who was still hanging out with an ex-boyfriend. Fans could tell Shep really liked MJ, especially after the two had a beachfront conversation together, which brought out his jealous side. Like most of Shep’s other relationships, the spark burned out, and Mj was never to be seen again.
Since leaving the show, MJ has stayed out of the Southern Charm spotlight. She and her friend have started Saw Bus Sisters, a mobile workshop dedicated to giving children STEM skills. MJ, whose real name is Maria, is a former early childhood education teacher and now a current woodworker. Even though she doesn’t appear on Southern Charm anymore, she is making a real difference within her community.
The newest season of Southern Charm is showing MJ’s ex, Shep struggling with his relationship with Taylor. The couple seemingly wants different things out of life, and the age difference is finally starting to show. Shep seems quite content going around living as he always has while Taylor is thinking of marriage and children. Hopefully, Shep won’t blow this relationship like he did all the others and will finally commit to Taylor.
