Most 90 Day Fiancé franchise stars keep active on social media, but sometimes their Instagram posts unintentionally make followers crack up over how obvious and ridiculous the photo filters on their pictures are. Becoming a cast member of 90 Day Fiancé or one of its spin-offs often results in an increased presence on Instagram, and it’s no wonder—the social media platform can provide endless sources of lucrative opportunities. However, franchise stars will often feel pressure to fit the influencer mold.
Over the years there have been many cast members who have become obsessed with their self image. Several go to extreme lengths to transform their appearance, including major weight loss, cosmetic procedures, and plastic surgery. Some are barely recognizable from the person viewers first met in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and there’s been a lot of pushback from fans who feel cast members have gone too far.
Of course, some 90 Day Fiancé stars decided to go the easy route of changing their appearance with photo filters. It’s a far less drastic way to alter your appearance, but fans are often just as critical of a bad filter as they are of plastic surgery. Most cast members will do some amount of image manipulation before uploading their photos, but a few have gone so far with their excessive filters that fans couldn’t help but laugh.
As an aspiring model, Natalie Mordovtseva is very conscious of her appearance, but that’s led to some Photoshop snafus. The 90 Day: The Single Life star has come under fire for her posts being unrealistic many times, but this video Natalie uploaded looks the most eerie. The aggressive brightening feature from the selfie ring light and filter make her blue eyes look downright spooky. 90 Day Fiancé star Natalie is a lovely human woman, but you wouldn’t know it from this post.
Before joining the cast of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Ben Rathbun posted lots of fitness videos and photos to his Instagram, and his use of photo filters was almost as heavy-handed as his love interest Mahogany Roca’s. In this post, Ben seems to have turned the smoothing tool up all the way, and it’s no surprise that Mahogany initially said, if anything, he was the catfish.
Darcey Silva has paired extreme plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures with excessive photo filters, and many fans think the 90 Day Fiancé franchise regular doesn’t even look real anymore. Darcey recently shared this video with her followers, and fans were stunned—but not in a good way. Between her many surgeries and the aggressive filter on the video, Darcey looks more like a wax figure than a person.
Mahogany Roca joined the ranks of 90 Day Fiancé catfish who turned out to be real, though it’s clear why so many people thought her pictures were fake. The photo manipulations and filters on her posts make her look like someone else entirely, and it took Ben’s daughter all of two seconds before declaring Mahogany’s picture that her father showed her, “so fake.” It’s incredible that Mahogany is a real person, though you wouldn’t know it from her Instagram photos.
Most viewers would agree that Hamza Moknii is already an attractive man who shouldn’t have much need for photo filters. However, in this Instagram post, Hamza looks totally freaky from the overuse of his filter. The entire picture looks fuzzy from the smoothing tool, and it almost seems like Hamza was vibrating as the photo was taken. He may have been aiming for a more glam look, but this picture does Hamza a disservice.
For many 90 Day Fiancé fans, Rebecca Parrott is the queen of photo filters. She’s a beautiful woman in her early 50s, but it seems that she yearns to look young again. The filtered pictures, like this one, that Rebecca sent her now-husband Zied Hakimi made her look 20 years younger, and it’s understandable that Zied did a bit of a double take when he met her in person for the first time. However, recently Rebecca has dialed back her use of photo filters, even posting some makeup-free selfies. It would appear that the 90 Day Fiancé star has begun to love and accept herself just as she is.
