For example, subscribe to open (S2O) is a model that has been branded “equitable OA,” as if to say that if you are not employing S2O or a model with similar attributes, you are against equity. S2O is a great model for some journals — especially as it offers a fast route to OA. It does not require approbation or guilt as a justification.
