What a Young Princess Leia Could Look Like in Obi-Wan Kenobi Show

A new fan poster reveals what a young Princess Leia could look like in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Obi-Wan Kenobi sees Ewan McGregor return to the titular role, which he first played in 1999’s Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. McGregor played the character throughout the Star Wars prequel trilogy, ending with 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. He was also credited as a voice in the sequel trilogy, but the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be the first time McGregor has properly reprised the role in 17 years.

Alongside McGregor, the series stars Kumail Nanjiani, Joel Edgerton, Sung Kang, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Hayden Christensen in his return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Vivien Lyra Blair has also been rumored to play a young Princess Leia, who may be an integral part of the plot. The story of Obi-Wan Kenobi is still tightly under wraps, but the series is said to be set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, picking up with Obi-Wan on Tatooine. However, details surrounding the series say that trouble with young Leia could be what spurs Obi-Wan back into action.

A new fan poster created and shared on Instagram by Guiillegfx shows what Blair could potentially look like as a 10-year-old Leia in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The poster sees Blair’s face superimposed on the image, with the character sporting the classic white dress and hair buns fans have come to know. Guiillegfx also shared a comparison of the raw images and the final edit of the poster. The outfit and hairstyle featured in the poster are instantly recognizable to Star Wars audiences, as it’s the same look that Carrie Fisher’s iteration of Princess Leia donned when first introduced in the original 1977 film. This distinctive look was also brought back for 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which featured a de-aged version of Fisher as Leia during the movie’s finale. Whether Blair’s take on the character will don the outfit is unknown. However, it’s a great way to give audiences an idea of what she could look like if Blair has really been cast.

Blair is still an up-and-coming actress, but she’s made a splash in a few short years. In 2018, she appeared in the miniseries Waco as well as alongside Sandra Bullock in the Netflix hit Bird Box. Blair also appeared in director Robert Rodriguez’s We Can Be Heroes, where she played Guppy, the daughter of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. With Obi-Wan Kenobi, Blair’s resume will continue to impress, and if Leia proves to be the catalyst for the show’s plot, audiences could see more of young Princess Leia down the road. For those looking to see what Obi-Wan Kenobi is keeping under wraps, the series debuts on Disney+ on May 25.
