Love Is Blind: Why Nick Lachey Is Defending Himself After Altercation

Nick Lachey, the co-host of Netflix’s Love Is Blind, is defending himself after an altercation with a photographer. Nick’s crisp and clean boy band persona is about to be wiped away as the singer tries to bounce back from a recent scandal. Love Is Blind season 2 just concluded, but the drama doesn’t seem to be over.

Nick first rose to fame as the lead singer of 98 Degrees. While Nick and his band didn’t have the same success as *NSYNC or Backstreet Boys, the group still did well for themselves and developed their own following. Nick then helped launch the world of reality TV when he starred with his then-wife, Jessica Simpson, on Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. After a failed marriage, he moved on to record several more albums and even guest-starred on a few scripted shows. Fans never thought Nick was aggressive or cruel, but a recent encounter with the paparazzi has shown a darker side to the crooner.

Nick recently took to his Twitter to share that the paparazzi harassed him after a dinner with his wife, Vanessa Lachey, and a friend. According to Nick’s version of events, he “overreacted” and said he should have remembered the paparazzi’s behavior is “part of the deal.” Nick then called out TMZ for supposedly fabricating a story just for clickbait and saying he “got physical.” Check out Nick‘s tweets below:

It seems Nick wasn’t aware his outburst was caught on video and showed the woman never left her car. Instead, Nick was caught charging the car, reaching in to try and grab her phone, and even shouting profanities at her. While Nick’s version of events seems a lot tamer, some people in the comments of his tweets couldn’t help but call him out. Many who watched the video pointed out that he conveniently left out the part about the paparazzi never leaving the car, that he was drunk, and called her a misogynistic name. It seemed by the end of the video, Nick no longer had a leg to stand on.

Love Is Blind viewers feel that Nick should have been honest about the whole altercation instead of leaving key information out. Now, he has been left slightly disgraced and no doubt embarrassed. It probably didn’t help that his wife, Vanessa, could be heard encouraging him to confront the paparazzi. While love may be blind, Nick’s judgment sure wasn’t, at least in that case.
