The Shocking Truth About These So-Called Publishers Every Author Must Know Before Signing!
Paramount Book Publishing / paramountbookpublishing.com
They claim to be in the U.S. but the website, like many here, was registered in ICELAND. Syntax errors on their site. They have stolen book covers on their website (published long before this company existed), etc., etc. Same phone number as Avery Publishing House, a name they stole from Penguin Random House. Exact same website as Full Stop Writers / fullstopwriters.com. Committing several violations on THIS LIST.
Pegasus Publishers / pegasuspublishers.com
A WritersWeekly reader asked me if this company was legit. The site makes them appear to be a “traditional publisher.” However, if you read the bottom part of the submission page, it says, “If the editor considers the work to be appropriate for our lists, we will put forward an offer of publication, either under a traditional contract or a hybrid publishing contract.” (Emphasis ours.) We always recommend authors AVOID “hybrid publishers.” This company DOES charge authors! We dove down a rabbit hole and, holey moley, this outfit has ticked off some authors! Read the NUMEROUS 1-star reviews on Trustpilot! We saved all of them as a pdf file. There are multiple pages of them! Just a few quotes: “complete disaster,” “They are time waisters and scam artists,” “I am so heartbroken,” “Pegasus operates with a shocking lack of professionalism, technical skill, and integrity,” and “Absolutely appalling customer service, poor editing, poor communication, poor marketing. Very expensive and do not deliver. If I could give no stars I would.” There are many more as well!
