Scott: So, you’ve got this charismatic figure Michael Flatley. You’ve got Riverdance. As you were doing research, how did you land on the story you wanted to tell?
Greg: I started out thinking about Riverdance in general and researching the people involved, trying to find the best angle into the story. It became very clear very quickly that Michael Flatley was, for me, by far the most interesting person involved – especially given all the scandal and controversy surrounding his departure from the show. And his interviews were incredible. He’s got this way of talking that’s both charming and cocky – but it’s earned because he’s literally the best dancer in the world. So, it was obvious that the best way that I personally could tell the story of Riverdance was through a Michael Flatley biopic.
