Greg: Kelley was based on a real person. She’s a backup dancer in Riverdance. And the backup dancers are all young, a few of them respect Michael, but they mostly share Jean’s view that he’s a weird old guy who takes this stuff too seriously. But Kelley completely loves and admires him. She appreciates his passion for the dance, his knowledge of its history – and she’s very attracted to him. And if there’s one thing Michael loves, it’s someone telling him how great he is. So, sparks fly and she becomes Michael’s most trusted ally as the story goes on.
