Scott: How about when you’re writing a scene. Do you have any specific goals in mind?
Greg: Just whatever the character’s goals is, I guess. Every scene is sort of its own mini movie where the character often has something they want to achieve within the scene. Someone said to me once that every scene is about what the character wants and what they’re trying to hide. And I think that pretty much rings true. Your character has this macro goal that they’re working toward for the bulk of the script, and then these micro goals within the individual scenes. So, I guess I just think about what those micro goals are and how they’re trying to attain them.
