Greg: Yep, Moya Doherty was one of the producers of Riverdance. Her husband, John McColgan, was the other producer, but for the script it made more sense to just have one producer. She worked at RTÉ, which is Ireland’s national television network, and they assigned her the job of producing the original Riverdance number for Eurovision because the show was in Dublin that year. So, she went around recruiting dancers, and with the Irish diaspora being what it is, some of the best Irish dancers are actually in America, and that’s where she found her two leads.
