The first time I ever saw a screenplay was at this collectibles show when I was in the seventh grade looking for Star Wars memorabilia. And it was an eye-opening experience to read that first script – which was Scream 2, by the way. But I went through a few different ideas of things I wanted to do in entertainment. I thought I might want to be a standup comic, so I tried that for a while and bombed many times. I took sketch writing courses at Second City and all that, and just somewhere down the line I narrowed in on screenwriting.
